Maharashtra is the most urbanized state in the country. According to the changing times, it has become essential on part of Government to plan measures for dealing with the dynamic problems faced by women. In recent times, brutal violence against women and girls is becoming a challenge to both Government and Society. Preventive measures must be taken to prevent it. ... In order to empower girls by giving them self-defence training and enhance their self-confidence, the Woman and Child Development Department has given approval to implement Rajmata Jijau Self Defence Training Program for Girls in the State from 03.07.2023 vide Government Resolution dated 23.06.2023. The said training program is being implemented through an autonomous organization, Mahatma Gandhi Administration Training Institute under the authority of Commissioner, Women and Child Development, Pune. For execution of this training program in the state, cooperation is being sought from educational institutions/ universities, voluntary organizations, student organizations/ groups etc. The training is being given in two phases. In the first phase, the girls will be counselled. In the second phase, 1000 girls will be given two-day self-defence training by 20 trainers each in all Talukas of the State. After training the girls will be issued certificate by Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education and Training. The facility of online registration for Institutes and Girls participating in the said training program is made available on https://shakti.msbsvet.edu.in. All the facilities for creating batch, training planning, completion of training, etc. for Institutes and all the facilities related to approving training batch and issuing certificate for District Women and Child Development Officer offices are being made available online on the said portal.
